Yap is fast, private voice dictation for Windows and Mac. Hold a shortcut (Ctrl + Win on Windows), speak, and let go: Yap turns your speech into clean, punctuated text and types it straight into the app you are using, from email and documents to chat, browsers and terminals.
Speech recognition runs on your own computer, so your recordings are never uploaded, and after a one-time model download Yap works without an internet connection. It understands 25 languages and detects the language of each recording by itself, removes filler words like "um", and keeps a searchable history of what you dictated on your computer, where you can copy, retry or transcribe a saved recording again.
The app works for 3 days from the first time you open it, with no account and no card. After that, start a 10-day trial with a card to keep dictating. After the trial it is $6.90 a month or $69 a year, and one subscription covers every Mac and PC you connect.
